Reality is always kinder…
…than the story we tell ourselves about it. [Byron Katie]
Scared?
What if things go wrong?
How about asking, “What if things go right?”
Fear stands for
False
Evidence
Appearing
Real.
It’s an old acronym, and still true.
We are so good at playing vivid mental movies in our mind about what could possibly go wrong, rather than using our imagination for something more creative and productive.
We scare ourselves out of action, rather than taking the very first tiny step towards our goal, then checking if we’re still alive – and then taking the next tiny step…
- How often have you been scared of change in your life?
- How many changes did you go through anyway?
- Did you die?
- How often did you grow from change?
- How often did you feel proud and stronger and happier afterwards?
You’re still here.
Go for it.
Just take that first tiny step…
